| Marsden Road Walkers Hope To Make Wishes Come True |

Staff from The Seafood Company’s Marsden Road site in Grimsby will be taking to the streets this Saturday to ask locals to dig deep and empty their pockets in aid of children’s charity When You Wish Upon a Star. Forty employees will be pounding the pavements to raise funds to grant the wishes of children with life threatening illnesses and they are hoping that local residents and businesses will be cheering them along the way.
The company was inspired by the Grimsby Telegraph’s appeal to raise funds to send children to Lapland this Christmas and decided that the charity was a cause they would like to support all year round as Tam Muldoon, managing director at Marsden Road, explains:
“When the Telegraph was running the Lapland appeal a member of staff brought in the paper and brought this fantastic cause to our attention. Although sufficient funds were raised to pay for the Lapland trips, the charity really struck a chord with our employees and we wanted to do more. Local coordinator Pat Wright explained to us that around £250,000 needs to be raised every year to enable the organisation to continue its invaluable and inspiring work.
“The staff have really got behind the fundraising and the charity walk is the first of many activities we are planning to do our bit to help make some wishes come true.”
The charity walk will begin at Marsden Road at 3pm on Saturday 24 October taking in Cleethorpe Road, the marketplace and the seafront before ending at Meridian Point at approximately 7pm. Staff will be collecting donations from the public along the route.
The Seafood Company employees have already raised £2,500 through internal fundraising and rallying the support of local businesses and staff would like to thank the following for their donations:
